Do I need a 200A or 320A service upgrade?
200 amps is the standard for most homes and covers EV chargers, heat pumps, and modern appliances. 320 amps is for homes with high electrical loads — electric heating, multiple EV chargers, hot tubs, and large additions. We'll calculate your load during the estimate and recommend the right size.
How long does a service upgrade take?
Most residential service upgrades take one full day. The utility typically needs 2–4 weeks of lead time for their side of the disconnect and reconnect — we handle that scheduling for you.
Can I add a 240V circuit for an EV charger without a service upgrade?
Often yes, if your current service has enough capacity. We'll do a load calculation first. If your panel is at or near capacity, a service upgrade may be needed before adding a 50-amp EV circuit.
